For over 70 years, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School has been providing the students of Raleigh and the surrounding areas an affordable, high quality, traditional Catholic education. Founded by the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1954, the school has also seen religious and educational leadership from the Sisters of Mercy, the Sisters of Notre Dame, and the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM).

The OLLS Difference

Our generation will show that it can rise to the promise found in each young person when we know how to give them space. This means that we have to create the material and spiritual conditions for their full development; to give them a solid basis on which to build their lives; to guarantee their safety and their education to be everything they can be; to pass on to them lasting values that make life worth living; to give them a transcendent horizon for their thirst for authentic happiness and their creativity for the good; to give them the legacy of a world worthy of human life; and to awaken in them their greatest potential as builders of their own destiny, sharing responsibility for the future of everyone. If we can do all this, we anticipate today the future that enters the world through the window of the young.
-Pope Francis

Choosing the best place for your child’s education is one of the biggest decisions you will make.

If you’re like most parents, you want your child to be in a safe, secure environment. You want your child surrounded by people—teachers, staff, and other parents—who will have a positive influence and teach lessons about life including faith and virtues as well as strong academics.

At Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School, we spend our time educating the whole child, in mind, body, and spirit. Our school is a caring Christ-centered, Blue Ribbon School of Excellence where children get a solid Catholic education which prepares them to be a light in the world.

We understand the sacrifices involved in sending your children to a Catholic school and are committed to assuring that you see the return on your investment. Not just in an excellent education, but in your child being part of a community of faith that instills in them an understanding of what truly matters, and an expectation of achievement in academics and virtues—all important aspects of success.

We look forward to meeting you, welcoming you, and introducing you to the faith, focus, and achievement that Our Lady of Lourdes School offers.

Value of a Catholic education

The Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School advantage is reflected in the philosophy that permeates the total education program and the lives of the faculty and students. This philosophy challenges students to improve the world by sharing and living Gospel values and Christ’s message of salvation. They grow to understand the roots of their faith and their responsibilities as Christians.

  • Students explore their faith through classes and activities in Scripture, Sacraments, Church, and Morality.
  • Our Lady of Lourdes stresses the value of self-discipline and commitment.
  • Faculty and staff are role models who share their faith, talents, and time.
  • While not all students who come to our school are Catholic, we welcome and share all our experiences of faith and values.

Values which promote understanding and service to the elderly, the handicapped, the poor, and the ill are an important part of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School experience. As a faith community, we emphasize those values which encourage students to accept others rather than exclude them, to understand the difference between right and wrong, and to commit themselves to serve God by serving others.
